One of these days, I’m going to have a script… and some make-up for the camera… and I’ll hold the phone far enough away so as not to appear to have cross-eyes and a Moon face.
And how come nobody has ever told me about me having ‘hamster mouth’ when I talk?
Anyway… apart from that, I’m happy! :-)
Yes Les! Good for you for getting out there and getting that second V-blog up! You look just fine, no hamster mouth as you suppose. I really do love the shiftiness of your eyes and the accompanied combined expression...priceless!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Derrick
I think it's perfect the way it is :)
ReplyDeleteThey haven't told you because you haven't got a hamster mouth :)
ReplyDeleteHehe, thank you, all, even if you're politely fibbing to me about the hamster mouth... there's something going on there that I didn't realise until I did the blog in the woods. :-P
ReplyDeleteyou know you are perfect but its fun to poke fun at ourselves
ReplyDeleteWell, perfection is perception... and I'm perfectly happy with my life at the moment, so maybe so. ;-)
ReplyDeleteIf that is a hamster mouth, how can I get one?
ReplyDeleteA plea — PLEASE speak up a little, I find it hard to hear you even when this speaker is full volume.
Have you found that some folk find this 'new you' a little bit scary? Rather like some people who have a tremendous spiritual experience that suddenly changes their life, or at least, their life's direction?
Ha, sorry for being so quiet, but I'm still a bit bashful whenever I point the phone at myself.
ReplyDeleteA bit scary? Hehe. Not that I've been made aware of, but I guess I don't get out much. Perhaps! :-)
The unexpected simplicity is beautiful..touching. Thank you kind sir.
ReplyDeleteAh, thank you! :-)
ReplyDeleteThe way you whisper and the camera work reminds me of Blair Witch Project
ReplyDeleteHa! Thanks! :-P
ReplyDeleteOn being, here are two stanzas from Elizabeth Bishop's fab poem: "Sestina":
ReplyDelete...
She thinks that her equinoctial tears
and the rain that beats on the roof of the house
were both foretold by the almanac,
but only known to a grandmother.
The iron kettle sings on the stove.
She cuts some bread and says to the child,
It's time for tea now; but the child
is watching the teakettle's small hard tears
dance like mad on the hot black stove,
the way the rain must dance on the house.
Tidying up, the old grandmother
hangs up the clever almanac
...
Ah, that's such lovely imagery. I'll have to search out the full poem. Thank you, Mary! :-)
ReplyDeleteHamster mouth? You're too funny.
ReplyDeleteI seem to be storing something in my cheeks. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love the silence of the morning ... At times silence to me has more impact than words ... Thank you for your sharing your essence of being
ReplyDeleteThank you, Pia! Yeah... there's a magic in that peace that we can too often overlook. It's wonderful just to 'be' there. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou do not have hamster mouth, you do, however have the best impression of a cat meow.
ReplyDeleteHehehe... I do think my command of the Cat language is rather good. Thank you! :-)
ReplyDeleteI made one video on YouTube for family history. I died laughing when I saw how I'm seen. Great fun. But if you have something to say you've got this one body, mouth and voice to express it. Good job!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Betsy! They are good fun to post - I need to get more done. :-)
ReplyDeletehey Les..i know i keep liking stuff you do..but it is the truth..
ReplyDeleteLNovak
Thanks, Laura :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing - made me smile...and take a moment to listen to the birds outside my windows this morning...hmm, was that a dragon that just flew over?? :0)
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I'm really pleased you were inspired to do that, and I hope it wasn't a dragon! :-S
ReplyDeleteSo lovely - thank you for sharing that! :-)
ReplyDeleteLes, exactly WHAT is a hamster mouth? The dragon pretending to be a seagull says you are not scary, you do not have a wobbly chin and he has no idea why you would think any part of you might resemble a hamster.
ReplyDelete;)
Nice to see you in person.
Unscripted I think has an honest feel. There is no sales pitch feel.
ReplyDeleteShhh, I like the bald thing, so, I don't think you need make-up. Malika
Nice to meet you. You do a good job helping others x
ReplyDeleteYou look an awful lot like my brother who lives in the UK. It was a bit spooky watching your video.
ReplyDeletethanks for your positivity!
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking me back to my garden in Epsom Surrey, I remember feeling peace like that. Since I've moved to NY I have forgotten how to Just Be and that's been over 7 yrs now. Thanks for making me aware.
ReplyDeleteWoW! That was fun to watch! I'm new to your blog & your twitter... and after reading the comments above... I fear a marathon blog analysis is descending upon me where I will pore over every post you've ever made to try to catch up! :) Intrigued? Absolutely!!! :D
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what a hamster mouth is, but I'd LOVE to know what you have to say. Could you get a transcript file made of what you said and add it to your Youtube video so that it is captioned? For people like me? :-)
ReplyDeleteConsider it! Captioning would make me appreciate what you share from your mouth & mind :)

You have reminded me of something I wanted to do a while ago but thought was a dumb idea. I now see that it's not. Everyone says I 'must' blog but I fear there are too many bloggers out there already and what do I have to say that others haven't already said far better than I can ever say it. However, they can't speak it the way I would speak it. Not that I'm an excellent candidate for video, but it would be new. I think I just might try it. Thank you for putting yourself out there and giving me the courage to do the same.
ReplyDeleteHow funny that I should just catch your tweet - so muck later than when you wrote this, on the same day I wrote about EXACTLY this on my new blog. Won't mention it by name here, though! Lovely video. No hamster mouth. Peaceful. Found myself slowing my breathing. That's not meant to be anything remotely suggestive!
ReplyDeleteTop of the morning to you! I love this. And I love your voice. Your voice has the magic of life in it. The kind of tone that is earned after time, and time of searching for an inner understanding. A knowing of oneself. And in that knowing, there is the crux of the magical understanding that it is an open seeking, something that does not finish or find a completion point (and therein the beauty). I think what I hear is the seeking of beauty. And my own Self recognises this. So, thank-you for reminding me to look at the simple beauty of being, this morning. A seagull, a crow call, a wind breeze. All meaningfully sought and found. V
ReplyDeleteLearning to 'be' is so powerful - and if you can't just be often enough enjoy every moment of 'doing'!
